As the 21st century is getting older, we humans are fidgeting more. Our world is constantly moving at a fast pace and we are surrounded by a tremendous amount of stimuli. Dopamine detox is already a buzzword. Internally, we all earn for an experience where we can just switch the button of chaos and expectations around us. And then there comes – spirituality. Spirituality is like a bridge to another world which fills you with hope and courage.
So, get yourself ready for this other worldly experience as we pack our bags for half a month and begin our Char Dham Yatra in the humble abode of gods – Uttarakhand.
You will get to have a plethora of experiences which will leave your soul quenched. This journey consists of taking a bath in the holy river – Ganga , witnessing the power of prayer at the ghats of Yamnotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath temples. Lakhs of devotees come every year to attend the yatra in search of Moksha. Tranquility is the one word which sums up the entire Yatra.

  • One should be physically and mentally fit to perform the journey as the Yatra involves trekking at an altitude of 1,4000 ft.
  • The Yatra is not suitable for old age people having arthritis as two dhams requires a lot of trekking to reach the temple.

Itinerary

After your arrival in Delhi, Our representative will meet and assist and begin the yatra. Our first stop will be Haridwar.  On arrival in Haridwar, Check in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. In the evening , we will take you to Har-Ki-Pauri to attend the grand aarti of Holy Ganges. Overnight at the hotel.

In the morning after breakfast drive to Barkot Via Dehradun and Mussoorie. On arrival at Barkot, Check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Early morning Drive to Hanuman Chatti (32 KMS). From there, we will drive to Phool chatti and then to Janki Chatti. We will start our trek from Janki Chatti for Yamunotri (5 KMS). Either by walking or by horse or by Doli at own cost. Arriving at Yamunotri, One can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as “Prasad ”. Here near the temple “Pooja” can be offered to Divya Shila, After taking bath in Jamnabai Kund’s warm water and having “Darshan” of pious “Yamunaji” returning to Hanumanchatti. Later, drive back to Barkot. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, we will start our journey to Gangotri. Upon reaching, check in. After dinner, stay at the Guest house.

Early in the morning, take a holy dip in the sacred river,  The Ganges. It’s also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Visit the temple. Attend Aarti in the evening. After Ganga Aarti, get back to your hotel  for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive to Srinagar. Yes , there is a Srinagar in Uttarakhand as well. This will be our pit stop to avoid the long journey to Kedarnath. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

In the morning after early breakfast check out from the hotel and Depart for Sitapur via Rudraprayag,. Upon arrival at Sitapur, Check in at the hotel, Overnight at hotel.

Early morning check out from the hotel and Depart for Sonprayag. This is the main cab stand. From here,

We will transfer you in the government vehicle to Gauri Kund. Cost of transfer to Gaurikund to be borne by the guest itself.  From Gaurikund, we will start our trek. Either by walking or by horse or by Doli. Cost of transfer by doli or pony to be borne by the guest itself. Those guests who will be taking a helicopter will be dropped at the Helipad. On arrival at Kedarnath, check-in into the hotel. In the evening visit Shankaracharya Samadhi behind the temple and take part in evening Aarti. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Early morning, after Temple Darshan trek down to Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, take a government vehicle to reach Sonprayag. the cost of the vehicle to be borne by guests.  Later, drive to Sitapur. Check in into the hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, leave for Badrinath. Check in into the hotel.  In Evening, visit Mana, the last village of India on the Indo – Tibet border. Dinner and overnight stay in the Hotel.

After breakfast, Visit to temple and take a bath in hot water springs. After darshar, we start our journey to Devprayag. Devprayag is a place of sangam of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers, which form sacred Ganges. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

After Breakfast, leave for Rishikesh. Rishikesh will be our final stay of this journey. After checking in at the hotel, you can explore Rishikesh on your own by visiting Ram Jhula, attending Ganga aarti at Parmarth ashram or Triveni ghat. Explore the market, collect souvenirs  and  do shopping on your own. Dinner and stay in Hotel.

After breakfast, you can explore Rishikesh more , can do adventure activities as per your time and leave for Delhi around noon. After reaching Delhi, you leave as per your schedule after collecting memories and peace for a lifetime.

This is a long journey involving lots of physical strength. It is advisable to add more days if you think some days have a long journey. We can add more pit stops at a reasonable cost.

Best time to go –

  • The gates of the temple open around late April to early May and they remain open till post Diwali.
  • From Late October to April/May , the gates of the temples remain closed due to low temperature and snow factor.
  • One should also avoid late June to Mid September due to monsoons and heavy rainfall in the state of Uttarakhand.
  • The best time is to visit during the months of May and late mid September.

Weather –

  • September, October – mornings and evenings are cold, day temperatures are pleasant.
  • Mid October  to April – mornings and evenings are cooler with December and January the coldest months. Day time temperatures are also cool.
  • April – June – Mornings and evenings are pleasant. Day temperature can be  high up to 25 degree celsius.
  • July and August – Heavy rainfall, landslides, etc. Not recommended to take the Yatra due to road blocks.

Packing

What you need to bring will vary according to the trip style you have chosen, the places you are visiting and when you are traveling. Generally speaking, we recommend you pack as lightly as possible and make sure that you are able to carry and lift your own luggage, and walk with it for short distances or up or down a flight of stairs. Our travelers usually find the smaller their luggage is, the more they enjoy the trip without having to worry about carrying heavy bags! Aim to keep your main luggage under 15kg.

You’ll also need a day pack/bag to carry water, camera, swimming suit, hiking shoes and jacket etc. when you’re exploring during the day.
