“Those who travel to mountain-tops are half in love with themselves, and half in love with oblivion.”
― Robert Macfarlane
Uttarakhand is truly a beauty on its own. From picturesque locations to adventure treks, it has all that you could ask for. It could be a poet’s muse ,a trekker’s long found home or for someone a place to lose themselves only to be found again. No words can do justice in describing this place as the eyes would.
So if you are looking for a full fledged trip to these magnificent places and want to witness its beauty here we have planned the perfect trip for you.
Why go looking for the Swiss mountains when we have our Chopta valley which has the perfect snow capped mountains and the world’s highest temple of Lord Shiva, the Tungnath temple . Chandrashila peak which is 4000 meters in height is conquerable by hiking a km from the temple. The 360 degree views of some of the highest peaks in Uttarakhand at Chandrashila peak are something which will leave you mesmerized for life. The small yet picture-perfect town of Auli is India’s premier ski resort destination. The mighty Trishul peak and the glorious Nanda Devi are going to perplex you with their beauty.
Along with this, experience the crazy yet calm life of Rishikesh. Zipping over the Ganges, bungee-ing down to the river, white river rafting and kayaking or engrossing yourself in the energy of evening Aarti , meditating and practicing yoga , Rishikesh is a complete package in itself.
Arrive in New Delhi, Our driver will meet and assist and then drive to Rishikesh. On arrival in Rishikesh, Check in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. You can visit Beatles ashram, freedom/nirvana cafe. In the evening , you can attend ganga aarti at the ghat of Holy Ganges. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, we will start our journey to Chopta, a small village also known as Switzerland of India. Upon reaching, check in to your camp. Take some rest for a while. After freshening up, take a brief tour around the campsite. Enjoy your evening with refreshments served around the camp bonfire. After dinner, stay in the swiss tents with attached washrooms. This is one of the peaks where you can reach by just trekking and no special equipment is required to reach the peak. Enjoy the view of Himalayan peaks and start trekking down to Chopta. Things to do during this trip –
Best time to go –
What you need to bring will vary according to the trip style you have chosen, the places you are visiting and when you are traveling. Generally speaking, we recommend you pack as lightly as possible and make sure that you are able to carry and lift your own luggage, and walk with it for short distances or up or down a flight of stairs. Our travelers usually find the smaller their luggage is, the more they enjoy the trip without having to worry about carrying heavy bags! Aim to keep your main luggage under 15kg.
You’ll also need a day pack/bag to carry water, camera, swimming suit, hiking shoes and jacket etc. when you’re exploring during the day.
Below we have listed the essentials for this trip:
INDICAFILA ULTIMATE PACKING LIST
Due to the diversity and breadth of our trips, our ultimate packing list should be used as a guide only and is not intended to be a complete packing list to suit every trip.
What you bring will vary according to the trip style you’ve chosen, the places you’re visiting and the time of year and the weather when you’re travelling. Please check the Essential Trip Information of your chosen trip, which will detail any specific requirements for your trip and is tailored to suit your needs. It will also cover the type and size of luggage that can be taken, as for some trips there may be certain weight (ie. for trips with included flights) or size (ie. for trips using safari vehicles) restrictions for your luggage. Some packing guides for some of our most popular destinations are also listed at the bottom of this page.
If you have any questions about what to pack, please get in touch with our customer service team.
On the vast majority of our trips you are expected to carry your own luggage. Most travellers use a small, wheeled suitcase although the type of luggage most suitable will vary depending on your trip and destination. Please refer to the packing section of your Essential Trip Information for any specific luggage requirements. You will also need a daypack/bag to use during the day.
Please check your Essential Trip Information for details on appropriate clothing for your itinerary and destination. On some trips access to laundries may be limited so you may need to plan to hand wash your own clothes while on trip. For longer trips we recommend you choose clothing that is easy to wash and fast drying.
